Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Bamboo In Ink by Zhu Duan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2005, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 30,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 108,000.00 (€ 11,816.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhu Duan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Whiling The Summer Away in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 3,256,000.00 (€ 339,073.29).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Bamboo In Ink von Zhu Duan im November 2005 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 30.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 108.000,00 (€ 11.816,79) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhu Duan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Whiling The Summer Away im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.256.000,00 (€ 339.073,29).
