Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Poem In Xingshu by Zhou Zuoren was worth HKD 225,000.00 (€ 20,778.66) to a buyer in October 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Zuoren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Correspondences to Mr Hu Shifang in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 5,980,000.00 (€ 653,341.90).

Die Arbeit Poem In Xingshu von Zhou Zuoren war einem Käufer im Oktober 2011 HKD 225.000,00 (€ 20.778,66) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhou Zuoren erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Correspondences to Mr Hu Shifang im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.980.000,00 (€ 653.341,90).
