Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zhou Zuoren achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 201,600.00 (€ 23,934.25) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Zuoren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Correspondences to Mr Hu Shifang in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 5,980,000.00 (€ 653,341.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhou Zuoren erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 201.600,00 (€ 23.934,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhou Zuoren erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Correspondences to Mr Hu Shifang im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.980.000,00 (€ 653.341,90).
