In November 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Black Monkey by Zhou Qianqiu. The auction ended at the price of HKD 10,000.00 (€ 1,076.65), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhou Qianqiu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in October this year for HKD 21,600.00 (€ 2,612.11).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Black Monkey von Zhou Qianqiu zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 10.000,00 (€ 1.076,65) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhou Qianqiu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für HKD 21.600,00 (€ 2.612,11) versteigert wurde.
