Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Blossom Series by Zhou Chunya was worth HKD 9,700,000.00 (€ 1,044,351.99) to a buyer in November 2017. This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 2,800,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhou Chunya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stone Series - The Tree Connected To Stone, which sold at auction in May 2019 for HKD 32,525,000.00 (€ 3,722,477.35).

Die Arbeit Blossom Series von Zhou Chunya war einem Käufer im November 2017 HKD 9.700.000,00 (€ 1.044.351,99) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 2.800.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhou Chunya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stone Series - The Tree Connected To Stone beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für HKD 32.525.000,00 (€ 3.722.477,35) versteigert wurde.
