Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2020 Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Portrait of Kang Youwei by Zheng Shixuan. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 31,875.00 (€ 3,441.48). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zheng Shixuan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scholar at Ease with Guqin, which sold at auction in October 2021 for HKD 82,875.00 (€ 9,218.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Kang Youwei von Zheng Shixuan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 31.875,00 (€ 3.441,48) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Zheng Shixuan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scholar at Ease with Guqin beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für HKD 82.875,00 (€ 9.218,70) versteigert wurde.
