In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Plum Blossoms by Zheng Shan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,267.41), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zheng Shan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gathering Place For Ci Poets, For Xu Zeng, 1861-1897 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 52,812.50 (€ 45,618.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plum Blossoms von Zheng Shan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.267,41) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zheng Shan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gathering Place For Ci Poets, For Xu Zeng, 1861-1897 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.812,50 (€ 45.618,47).
