Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale, which included the work Ink Plum by Zheng Shan. The price achieved of USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,379.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zheng Shan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gathering Place For Ci Poets, For Xu Zeng, 1861-1897 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 52,812.50 (€ 45,618.47).
