Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work I. Binding The Lost Souls: The Huge Explosion 4; Ii. Binding The Lost Souls: Memory Loss by Zheng Lianjie was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,214.05). Admittedly, works by Zheng Lianjie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 2002 W-1 in June 2015 with an auction result of CNY 212,400.00 (€ 30,715.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit I. Binding The Lost Souls: The Huge Explosion 4; Ii. Binding The Lost Souls: Memory Loss von Zheng Lianjie im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.214,05) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zheng Lianjie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 2002 W-1 im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 212.400,00 (€ 30.715,55).
