Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work Binding The Lost Souls: The Huge Explosion 4; Ii. Binding The Lost Souls: Memory Loss Two Works by Zheng Lianjie was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 700.00 (€ 599.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zheng Lianjie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 2002 W-1 in June 2015 with an auction result of CNY 212,400.00 (€ 30,715.55).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit Binding The Lost Souls: The Huge Explosion 4; Ii. Binding The Lost Souls: Memory Loss Two Works von Zheng Lianjie im Juni 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 700,00 (€ 599,47) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zheng Lianjie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 2002 W-1 im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 212.400,00 (€ 30.715,55).
