Hanging scroll, ink and color on paper, inscribed by the artist and dated Tongzhi renshen, and signed Huishu Zhao Zhiqian, with an artist's seal Zhao Zhiqian yin.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Plum, Bamboo and Rock, 1872 by Zhao Zhiqian was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,493.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhao Zhiqian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers In Classical Style in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 15,640,000.00 (€ 1,482,845.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Plum, Bamboo and Rock, 1872 von Zhao Zhiqian kam im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.750,00 (€ 11.493,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhao Zhiqian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers In Classical Style im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 15.640.000,00 (€ 1.482.845,80).
