In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy After Old Masters by Zhao Yi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,478.17), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhao Yi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 16,250.00 (€ 15,128.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy After Old Masters von Zhao Yi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.478,17) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhao Yi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 16.250,00 (€ 15.128,95) versteigert wurde.
