This price was achieved in the auction The Beauty of Brushes - A Selection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy 3 at POLY in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 6,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhao Shijun; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Couplet In Running Script sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of HKD 38,400.00 (€ 39,213.91).
