Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Poems In Running Script by Zhao Mengfu was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. The price achieved of USD 149,000.00 (€ 108,151.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 160,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhao Mengfu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape And Calligraphy in April this year with an auction result of HKD 42,930,000.00 (€ 43,839,929.35).

Die Arbeit Poems In Running Script von Zhao Mengfu wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 108.151,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 120.000,00 – 160.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhao Mengfu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape And Calligraphy im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 42.930.000,00 (€ 43.839.929,35).
