A top price for Zhang Xuezeng - as previously expected
The work Landscape by Zhang Xuezeng was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. The price achieved of USD 68,750.00 (€ 54,442.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Landscape is the most expensive artwork by Zhang Xuezeng that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Landscape von Zhang Xuezeng wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 54.442,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Landscape das teuerste Kunstwerk von Zhang Xuezeng, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
