ZHANG SHAOSHI (1913-1991) Flowers Four scrolls, mounted as two scrolls for framing, ink and colour on paper Each scroll measures 32.5 x 33.5 cm. (12 3 ⁄ 4 x 13 1 ⁄ 4 in.) Three scrolls inscribed and signed, one scroll signed, with a total of nine seals of the artist. Three scrolls dated spring, jiazi year(1984)

The work Flowers by Zhang Shaoshi was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in February this year. It achieved a price of HKD 35,280.00 (€ 4,239.46), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 41%. Admittedly, works by Zhang Shaoshi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 26,005.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Flowers von Zhang Shaoshi kam im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 35.280,00 (€ 4.239,46) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 41%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Shaoshi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 26.005,84).
