This artwork by Zhan Wang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010. In the Asian Contemporary Art & Chinese 20th Century Art (Evening Sale) auction, the work Artificial Rock No. 131 sold for HKD 6,380,000.00 (€ 630,365.14) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 3,200,000.00. This high result makes Artificial Rock No. 131 the most expensive artwork by Zhan Wang that we have observed at auctions so far.
