Despite a disappointment, a good price for Yan Yu
When the work Poem In Regular Script by Yan Yu was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 162,500.00 (€ 139,821.03). Despite this disappointing result, Poem In Regular Script is the most expensive artwork by Yan Yu that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Yan Yu
Als die Arbeit Poem In Regular Script von Yan Yu im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 162.500,00 (€ 139.821,03) den Besitzer.
