Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Couplet In Running Script by Yuan Mei was sold in the Saturday at Sotheby's: Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2015. The price achieved of USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,463.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yuan Mei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Letters in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 186,567.16).

Die Arbeit Couplet In Running Script von Yuan Mei wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion Saturday at Sotheby's: Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.463,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yuan Mei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Letters im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 186.567,16).
