Auction result well in line with expectations
The work My Bed, Fifi Abdou, Cairo, 2000 by Youssef Nabil was sold in the 20th Century Art / Middle East auction at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,363.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Youssef Nabil achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maelema- Fifi Abdo in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 91,300.00 (€ 65,711.82).

Die Arbeit My Bed, Fifi Abdou, Cairo, 2000 von Youssef Nabil wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.363,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Youssef Nabil erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maelema- Fifi Abdo im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.300,00 (€ 65.711,82).
