In December 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Israeli & International Art, which included the work Behind The Wall by Yosl Bergner. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,500.00 (€ 22,874.73), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Yosl Bergner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kushan (The Deed) in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 141,847.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Israeli & International Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Behind The Wall von Yosl Bergner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 22.874,73) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yosl Bergner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kushan (The Deed) im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 141.847,07).
