This artwork by Yi Bingshou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Clerical Script sold for HKD 1,500,000.00 (€ 164,345.17) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yi Bingshou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poems In Kaishu, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 3,200,000.00 (€ 369,826.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yi Bingshou erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Clerical Script für HKD 1.500.000,00 (€ 164.345,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yi Bingshou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poems In Kaishu beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 3.200.000,00 (€ 369.826,20) versteigert wurde.
