Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yi Bingshou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy In Clerical Script sold for USD 212,500.00 (€ 172,483.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yi Bingshou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poems In Kaishu, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 3,200,000.00 (€ 369,826.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yi Bingshou erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Clerical Script für USD 212.500,00 (€ 172.483,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yi Bingshou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poems In Kaishu beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 3.200.000,00 (€ 369.826,20) versteigert wurde.
