Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Only The Greatest Nations Understand The Secret by Yan Ne was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 2,500.00 (€ 281.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yan Ne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Narcissus and Rock in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 43,386.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Only The Greatest Nations Understand The Secret von Yan Ne im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 2.500,00 (€ 281,50) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yan Ne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Narcissus and Rock im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 43.386,20).
