Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Yamini Nayar could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in December 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work Sincere changed hands for USD 956.25 (€ 844.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yamini Nayar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Being There; What Is Essential in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,647.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yamini Nayar konnte im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art wechselte die Arbeit Sincere für USD 956,25 (€ 844,89) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yamini Nayar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Being There; What Is Essential im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.647,43).
