A top price for Xu Yue
When the work Lotus In The Pond by Xu Yue was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 70,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than nine times as high at HKD 687,500.00 (€ 75,667.50). This high result makes Lotus In The Pond the most expensive artwork by Xu Yue that we have observed at auctions so far.
