In September 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Poem Of White Lotus by Xu Lin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,888.50), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Lin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in November 2012 with an auction result of HKD 1,820,000.00 (€ 180,461.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im September 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poem Of White Lotus von Xu Lin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.888,50) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Lin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.820.000,00 (€ 180.461,18).
