Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Myriad Trees And Strange Peaks by Xu Jian was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2013. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,158.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Jian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape after Cao Zhibiao in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 3,620,000.00 (€ 346,312.35).
