This artwork by Xie Lansheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy in Running Script sold for HKD 52,500.00 (€ 4,965.18) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xie Lansheng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscapes in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xie Lansheng erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script für HKD 52.500,00 (€ 4.965,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xie Lansheng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscapes im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 20.863,85).
