In November 2007 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Joy of Fishing by Xie Bin. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 247,500.00 (€ 21,636.03), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xie Bin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ways of Living, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Joy of Fishing von Xie Bin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 247.500,00 (€ 21.636,03) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Xie Bin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ways of Living beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 740.000,00 (€ 77.088,32) versteigert wurde.
