Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Enjoying Fishing by Xie Bin was sold in the Knowing: Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Le Yi Studio Collection auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 250,000.00 – 450,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 287,500.00 (€ 29,598.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xie Bin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ways of Living, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).
