Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern British Day Auction, which included the work Portrait of a Woman by Wyndham Lewis. The price achieved of GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,441.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wyndham Lewis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dancing Figures in March this year with an auction result of GBP 107,100.00 (€ 121,846.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern British Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a Woman von Wyndham Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.441,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wyndham Lewis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dancing Figures im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 107.100,00 (€ 121.846,94).
