Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Various Subjects by Wu Zishen for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,771.62). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wu Zishen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Temple Amidst The Clouds, which sold at auction in October 2011 for HKD 81,250.00 (€ 7,503.41).
