A top price for Wu Yusheng
This artwork by Wu Yusheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Kaishu sold for HKD 138,600.00 (€ 14,839.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy In Kaishu the most expensive artwork by Wu Yusheng that we have observed at auctions so far.
