In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale, which included the work Landscape by Wu Tao. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,528.62), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wu Tao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape Album in November 2015 with an auction result of HKD 162,500.00 (€ 19,847.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Wu Tao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.528,62) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wu Tao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape Album im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 19.847,09).
