Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Misty Mountain by Wu Shixian for HKD 15,120 (€ 1,795). This price was achieved in the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 20,000 – 40,000 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Shixian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in October 2009 with an auction result of HKD 237,500 (€ 20,764).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Misty Mountain von Wu Shixian für HKD 15.120 (€ 1.795) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000 – 40.000. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Shixian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im Oktober 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 237.500 (€ 20.764).
