Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work Heartbreak Tango - Yellow Jacket by Wong Kar Wai. The price achieved of HKD 756,000.00 (€ 84,094.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 600,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wong Kar Wai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In the Mood for Love - Day One in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 4,284,000.00 (€ 476,535.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Heartbreak Tango - Yellow Jacket von Wong Kar Wai zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 756.000,00 (€ 84.094,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 600.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wong Kar Wai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In the Mood for Love - Day One im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.284.000,00 (€ 476.535,66).
