This artwork by Wladimir Petroff achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2003. In the 19th Century European Pictures auction, the work The Blue Mosque; St. Sophia, Istanbul sold for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 3,313.93) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wladimir Petroff; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The nave of the Hagia Sophia sold at auction in February 2021 with the realized price of GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,117.32).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wladimir Petroff erzielte im September 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Pictures wurde die Arbeit The Blue Mosque; St. Sophia, Istanbul für GBP 3.290,00 (€ 3.313,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wladimir Petroff; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The nave of the Hagia Sophia im Februar 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.570,00 (€ 4.117,32).
