WIM DELVOYE (B. 1965) Fifty Disasters of the 20th Century signed, titled, numbered and dated 'Fifty Disasters of the 20th Century 1990-1992 12/25 Delvoye' (on the spine of the binder) fifty photocopies in a binder 32 x 28.5 x 5.5cm. Executed in 1990-1992, this work is number twelve from an edition of twenty-five plus four artist's proofs
Auction result misses estimated price range
In November last year a collector was able to acquire the work Fifty Disasters of the 20th Century by Wim Delvoye for EUR 1,260.00. This price was achieved in the auction Le Jeune, A Collecting Legacy: The Amsterdam No Reserve Edit at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wim Delvoye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flatbed Trailer Scale Model And Caterpillar 5C Scale Model in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 229,250.00 (€ 265,313.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fifty Disasters of the 20th Century von Wim Delvoye für EUR 1.260,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Le Jeune, A Collecting Legacy: The Amsterdam No Reserve Edit bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wim Delvoye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flatbed Trailer Scale Model And Caterpillar 5C Scale Model im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 229.250,00 (€ 265.313,28).
