This artwork by Wilson Hurley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2020. In the The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection auction, the work Dusk at Mesa Vista sold for USD 62,500.00 (€ 53,661.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wilson Hurley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot La Ventana, New Mexico sold at auction in April 2019 with the realized price of USD 87,575.00 (€ 78,184.98).
