Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2007 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Watercolours, which included the work Shamrock (V) and Enterprise on an upwind leg by William Alexander Coulter. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 660.00 (€ 978.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Alexander Coulter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Schooner J.M. Colman off the Farallon Islands 28 x 44in in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 17,575.00 (€ 15,935.26).
