Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work San Francisco Wreck (Capsized British Bark Blairmore with Tug Alert and Scow Schooner Twin Sisters) by William Alexander Coulter. Here, the upper estimate of USD 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 701.25 (€ 573.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Alexander Coulter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Schooner J.M. Colman off the Farallon Islands 28 x 44in in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 17,575.00 (€ 15,935.26).
