In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work South Africancare For The Children by Willie Bester. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,385.55), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willie Bester - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work What Happened In The Western Cape?, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,598.03).

Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit South Africancare For The Children von Willie Bester zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.385,55) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Willie Bester mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit What Happened In The Western Cape? beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.598,03) versteigert wurde.
