Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online sale, which included the work South African township by Willie Bester. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,785.00 (€ 1,992.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willie Bester achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work What Happened In The Western Cape? in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,598.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit South African township von Willie Bester zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.785,00 (€ 1.992,66) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willie Bester erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit What Happened In The Western Cape? im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.598,03).
