Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A seated woman sheltering two infants under her cloak by William Young Ottley was sold in the Old Master Pictures & Drawings auction at Christies in London in December 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 312.00 (€ 452.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Young Ottley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Gentleman, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Cream Coat And Waistcoat With Gold Buttons And Trim, Leaning Against A Stone Plinth In A Landscape in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 55,200.00 (€ 81,973.73).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of A Gentleman, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Cream Coat And Waistcoat With Gold Buttons And Trim, Leaning Against A Stone Plinth In A Landscape im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.200,00 (€ 81.973,73).
