Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work On the Exe, Devon by William Williams of Plymouth. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,312.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Williams of Plymouth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Lock At Newton Marshes, which sold at auction in May 2011 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,149.72).

Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the Exe, Devon von William Williams of Plymouth zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.312,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
