In August 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work An angler on the river at sunset by William Gosling. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,813.37), 25% above the upper estimate. Other works by William Gosling have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,435.99) in June 2014 for the work On the Thames near Bray, Berkshire.
