Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,248.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Gosling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the Thames near Bray, Berkshire, which sold at auction in June 2014 for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,435.99).
