Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work A Pause In The Music by William Verplanck Birney. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,358.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Verplanck Birney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Restorer, which sold at auction in March 2010 for USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,793.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Pause In The Music von William Verplanck Birney zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.358,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Verplanck Birney mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Restorer beobachtet, die im März 2010 für USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.793,29) versteigert wurde.
