Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a white silk dress, seated playing a clavichord by William Verelst was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings auction at Christies in London in November 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,849.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Verelst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Boy, Full-Length, In A Pale Red Silver Embroidered Coat, Waistcoat, And Breeches, With A Spaniel, A Staff In His Right Hand And A Tricorn On The Ground At His Feet, By A Plinth In A Wooded Landscape in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 48,058.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a white silk dress, seated playing a clavichord von William Verelst wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.849,26) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Verelst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Boy, Full-Length, In A Pale Red Silver Embroidered Coat, Waistcoat, And Breeches, With A Spaniel, A Staff In His Right Hand And A Tricorn On The Ground At His Feet, By A Plinth In A Wooded Landscape im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.070,00 (€ 48.058,25).
